Copper & Aluminum rod

Copper & Aluminum rod

Overview

Copper and aluminum rods are the primary raw materials for wire and cable manufacturing and are widely used in electric power, construction, energy, automotive, electronics, and other industrial fields. With the continuous development of infrastructure, energy transmission, and manufacturing industries, the demand for copper and aluminum rods remains stable and growing.

CABMAC focuses on providing reliable copper and aluminum rod production solutions, covering equipment supply, process design, testing configuration, and technical support. By combining stable equipment performance with proven process routes, CABMAC supports customers in establishing efficient and sustainable rod production lines.

Raw Material Selection

There are two main raw material options for copper rod production: electrolytic copper and scrap copper. Both can be processed into copper rods through continuous casting and rolling technology.

Electrolytic Copper

Electrolytic copper is traditionally used as raw material for copper rod production due to its high purity, stable quality, and convenient process control. It does not require complex refining steps and ensures consistent molten copper quality, making it suitable for producing high-quality copper rods.

Scrap Copper

With increasing resource costs and environmental requirements, scrap copper recycling has become an important option for copper rod production. Through appropriate refining and process control, scrap copper can be efficiently recycled and converted into qualified copper rods. This approach helps reduce production costs and environmental impact while improving resource utilization.

Regardless of the raw material selection, CABMAC can provide matching process solutions and equipment configurations, and assist customers in selecting the most suitable production route based on market conditions, regional characteristics, and application requirements.

Production Process

The typical copper rod production process is as follows:

When Electrolytic Copper Is Used

When Scrap Copper Is Used

When scrap copper is used as raw material, first-grade or above-grade scrap copper can be applied. A typical reference mixing ratio is 60% first-grade scrap copper and 40% second-grade scrap copper, subject to actual process control requirements.
